At Derby Ridge, we "Strive for the Dragon 5." The children are expected to:
- Follow directions quickly.
- Raise your hand for permission to speak.
- Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.
- Make smart choices.
- Keep your dear teacher happy.
To keep students engaged in every lesson, we incorporate Whole Brain
Teaching (WBT). This method of learning involves watching, listening,
speaking, and moving. If you are interested in learning more, look up
Whole Brain Teaching on YouTube. There are lots of exciting lessons to
watch!
Whole Brain Teaching is a strategy that the entire school is using this year. I have seen and heard wonderful things about WBT and am looking forward to implementing this into the classroom this year!
